AUDITION NOTICE: “ RAPUNZEL ” – SATURDAY, JANUARY 14 by appointment

Children’s Theatre of Knoxville will hold auditions for our February production of “Rapunzel,” a retelling of the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, on Saturday, January 14.

Auditions are by appointment only. Auditioners may choose from the following appointment times: 1 PM, 1:30 PM, 2 PM, 2:30 PM, 3 PM, 3:30 PM, and 4 PM. Six auditioners will be seen at each appointment time; therefore, a total of 42 auditioners will be seen. There are many speaking roles in the play for both girls and boys, especially for those 11 and older.  Auditioners should prepare a memorized piece from a play, story, book, or poem, which he/she will recite for the director. This piece should be NO LONGER THAN ONE MINUTE in duration.

Auditioners should bring their calendars. All actors will be asked to list all conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. The director will make every attempt to work around conflicts, whenever possible. Rehearsals will begin on or around Wednesday, Jan. 18, continuing through Thursday, February 16, 2012.  Rehearsals are held Sunday through Thursday evenings. Actors should expect to attend most rehearsals. Actors must also be available for all 13 performances: February 17 through March 3, Thursdays through Sundays. The play’s director will be Ashlee Latimer.

From west Knoxville, take I-40 East to the "Downtown" exit (Exit 388). Veer right as exit splits, toward Western Ave. - Summitt Hill Drive. Exit ends at Western Ave. Turn left onto Western Ave. At next traffic light, turn left onto Henley Street / Broadway. Travel through traffic lights at Jackson Ave., Depot Ave., and Fifth Ave. Turn left onto Tyson Street, immediately next to Old Gray National Cemetery and Dixie Kitchens. CTK is on the right, 300 feet down Tyson Street.

From east Knoxville, take I-40 West to the Hall of Fame Drive exit (Exit 389). Turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive. Travel through the traffic light at Gill Ave. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Fifth Avenue. Travel through the traffic lights at Central Ave. and Gay Street. At the next traffic light, turn right onto Broadway. Turn left onto Tyson Street, immediately next to Old Gray National Cenetery and Dixie Kitchens. CTK is on the right, 300 feet down Tyson Street.
